Steven M. Strang, Ph.D.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Steven Strang recceived his Ph.D. from Brown University. He began teaching at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology  (MIT) in 1980, and in 1982 he created MIT's Writing and Communication Center and has been its director ever since. At MIT, he has taught scientific and techincal writing, personal essay writing, introduction to contemporary rhetoric and advanced rhetoric classes.  In addition to publishing articles on writing pedagogy and writing center theory, he has published both fiction and poetry.  He served as Fiction Editor for the magazine Just Pulp and was the Publisher and Editor of the literary journal The Pale Fire Review for several years. He reviews manuscripts for several publishers and journals. He is a communication and writing consultant for various universities, businesses and companies.
