Catherine Hughes heads the largest African-American-owned and operated media corporation in the United States.  In the early years the family struggled with finances.  Catherine got interested in radio in childhood.  A teenage mother, she was driven to succeed in business.  When a radio station went up for sale, she raised funds from an investor and used U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) guarantee to lower interest rates on loans.  Important lessons are to stay positive, work hard to get through bad economic times, be flexible to adapt your strategy to succeed, and have foresight about your business in the near future. Startup with Heart-Hamdi Ulukaya (Chobani)


This video overviews the creation and success of Chobani, a Greek yogurt company.  Mr. Hamdi Ulukaya is the CEO and Founder of the company.  Immigrating to the U.S. from Turkey, the son of a farmer of cheese and yogurt, he bought an old plant with a Small Business Administration (SBA) loan.  His plant started with only five employees but has steadily expanded to over 2000 employees.  He strongly believes that the U.S. needs more manufacturing plants to provide good jobs for people and revitalize small towns in the U.S. Run Time: 23:27
